Mise en son : el TiGeR CoMiCs GRoUP
organisation : The Travelling Gallery - lieu : Edinburg
The Travelling Gallery's next show will be a group exhibition of artists whose varied work explores activities and issues relating to the sea or coastline of Scotland, as well as other coastal countries. The exhibition will include film, photography, sculpture and drawing.
French artist Celine Duval will show her mesmerising work Horizons IV recently shown at Glasgow International Festival. Her projected sequence of hundreds of photographs shows people enjoying the seaside where the horizon ebbs and flows in time with the sea.
Thomas Joshua Cooper will show his incredible photographs from the The World’s Edge series including an image of Diamond Rock near Findhorn. Also, Michael Mersinis, a recent graduate from Glasgow School of Art and a student of Thomas Joshua Cooper, will show his work exploring coastlines and islands and the space in between.
The exhibition also includes 2 works by duo Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion. The Pressure of Spring is a film commissioned by Channel Four Television and features young people from the north east coast of Scotland in their working and leisure environments showing how close a connection they have to the sea. Another sound based work will surprise and intrigue passers by.
Artist t s Beall shows a fascinating short film shot on the ferry from Fionnphort on Mull to Iona and Charlotte Watters will exhibit a sculptural installation specially adapted for the unique Travelling Gallery space. It is also hoped that the Travelling Gallery tour will co-incide with Charlotte Watters’ travelling gallery in a boat exhibition entitled Cargo which will sail to venues on the West Coast of Scotland.
The gallery will be touring throughout Scotland with 'On Edge'. To find out if we'll be in your area have a look at the Current Tour Dates and Locations page.
